The Sensations Series is one of my personal favorites. I originally started them to experiment with hands and mouths- two forms I tend to struggle with artistically but adore thematically.
The original drawings were on regular printer paper and colored using old Crayola markers, but I enjoyed the designs so much that I decided to recreate them with better materials and with a brighter color palette.
I love how the slightly unsettling images pair with their cheery colors - it gives the pieces the whimsical and unserious feel that N1 Imaginations stands for.

The Footed Friends series was technically the first commission work I ever did. It all started with Snail Male, which I doodled to test my new pens (Tombow Fudenosuke) on cardstock.
I jokingly shared the drawing with a close friend, who loved it so much that he asked me to draw a series that he could decorate his walls with.
He has yet to share the pictures of the framed drawings on the wall *ahem*, but this friend was instrumental in encouraging me to create N1 Imaginations.
Thanks, Elias.

Artist’s Note
This series is definitely a fan favorite- a true testimony to the weirdness of my audience. Inspired by that weird kid’s show Oobi which we all seemed to have collectively repressed from memory, the concept of this series is stupidly simple: what if hands were heads, and heads were hands? The possibilities seem endless, and the execution cracks me up.
The mohawk on Rock N1 implies that the hand-heads are capable of growing hair- does this mean that all the other characters are routinely shaving their ‘knuckles?’ Is bald head-hands the beauty standard, or is there a space for meticulously styled head-hand hair? I’m the artist, and even I’m perplexed by this (and getting confused by the language).
This series is by no means complete, and will continue to expand whether you like it or not.

Artist’s Note
Sometimes inspirations just can’t be neatly categorized or explained.
Sometimes you wake up to a 3am text from yourself that says “cactus with fingers for spikes,” and other times you wonder what’s really going on inside your dishwasher.
Sometimes you get upset after learning that koalas are completely smooth-brained, and occasionally you feel like people should empathize more with outhouses.
These are all totally normal aspects of the human experience and nothing to be concerned about whatsoever.
right?
